There is a lot of engineering and close tolerances are required to make a kort nozzle that performs well. Anything less and you will add drag to the detriment of overall performance. Likely you will...

I have a stainless steel "Propeller Line Guard" that is sized for a Yamaha 9.9 with high-thrust prop. Would sell for $150 plus shipping.
I used it only for about two months, and it is in like-new...
