Yeah, I tend to think sometimes "moving" can be the way to a simpler boat. I don't need a diesel heater, I just need to move further south :) -Chris |

Correct. But then maybe you don't have refrigeration or electric cooking or AC or anything like that when at anchor. Or maybe instead you haul ice, argue with an alchohol stove, or can be at... |

Trade-offs. A manual windlass is maybe "simpler" than an electric windlass. But then you have to be strong enough to bring up the (40? 50? 60? etc. lb anchor and the attendant chain @ approx.... |
