If you buy a new one you will get what you need to hook it up. If you buy a used one that doesn't include the wiring it may be one that somebody snatched off a boat when the owner wasn't around. ... |

Most (perhaps all) of the current Garmin plotters are available with the world charts built in, no need for chart chips of each area. Much more convenient and less expensive in the long run. |

No, that sudden stop tells you when you have run aground. A depth sounder, especially one with a settable alarm tells you when you are getting close to running aground. I'm nor discounting the... |

It's unlikely you could use the old transducer with the new plotter. I would install the Garmin plotter with the largest screen you can afford that also comes with a depth sounder. One transducer... |
