I think AIS filtering algorithms are going to be a big thing in the future of colregs law rule 5, and filtering settings are going to start to show up heavily in collision court cases and insurance...

+1 Although I can see the benefit when at anchor in some locations, and even on the dock if you are only on it temporarily eg a fuel berth, then everybody knows it's in use. It also could be useful...
