Hood used to make Vektron (woven vectran) and good quality dacron in the UK but have since stopped. We didn't see much of this in the southern hemisphere, but there appeared to be different varieties... |

Radial cutting doesn't make it difficult to do repairs. But they can have problems with the radial seams chafing going in and out of a furling mast. Fabric designed to be radial cut has more fibers... |

Maybe they are a bit biased towards dacron. Definitely not lighter for the same performance. The cruise laminates vary quite a lot, but generally speaking they all perform better than any dacron for... |
