Very nice! Given that you have that bit of glass backsplash to the right, you could also have a shaped piece of glass with some way to free-stand there behind the stove. Wouldn't have to be that...

Do something like this, although you might want to run the stainless shield down even lower. On this boat, the synthetic counter top extends to a backsplash a few inches tall, and then the shield...
