Re: ICW with 7 1/2 Foot Keel - Piece of Cake

We can't do the NJ ICW because we ahve a 60 foot mast and there are lots of bridges that are much lower than that so it is out.

Did we slow down? I think we probably did a couple of times...

Re: ICW with 7 1/2 Foot Keel - Piece of Cake

Re: ICW with 7 1/2 Foot Keel - Piece of Cake

Re: ICW with 7 1/2 Foot Keel - Piece of Cake

We've reached Oriental and we did have some issues at the New River inlet, took us 5 tries to find a way through, but we did get there at dead low tide.
Had it been high tide we would ahve just...

Re: ICW with 7 1/2 Foot Keel - Piece of Cake

we sailed over from Denmark and have seen plenty of ocean sailing - this is just for a change of pace -the scenery is extraordinarily beautiful and we haven't regretted going inside for minute

Re: ICW with 7 1/2 Foot Keel - Piece of Cake

our air draft is 18 meters = 59.4 feet, but I'm chicken so I say 62 feet just to make sure. You shouldn't have any air draft problems at 63.5 the bridges are 65 feet at high tide so you can go under...

Re: ICW with 7 1/2 Foot Keel - Piece of Cake

well we ran from Charleston SC to Wilmington - 265 ST. miles and we'll do the rest to Norfolk in about a week.

Most have said that the section we just ran is the worst - time will tell. But so...

ICW with 7 1/2 Foot Keel - Piece of Cake

Just landed in Wilmington after traversing the ICW from Charleston SC. We have a 7 foot keel but fully loaded and running in fresh water - we're much closer to 7 1/2 feet than 7.

So - how'd we...
