Re: Optimizing simultaneous alternator charging of LFP and LA

Which then shuts off the alternator leaving the electrically dependent engine (outlined above) running on battery until the issue is resolved. I'm looking for a solution that doesn't allow a load...

Re: Optimizing simultaneous alternator charging of LFP and LA

I would agree if I didn't have an electrically dependent engine (Yanmar 4JH4AE) that has an electric lift pump and stop solenoid. Since this contrivance is for an abnormal situation, I don't want to...

Re: Electric Folding Bike Reviews?

We recently replaced one of our Bromptons with a Brompton e-bike. While expensive, it's simple, (relatively) light weight, and folds small enough that it's painless to store aboard and to transfer...

Re: Non-Electric Folding Bike Reviews?

We bought a pair of Bromptons in 2017 and while expensive, couldn't be happier. Folded they are quite small, so easy to store and easy to transfer to and from the dinghy without any sort of lift. ...

Re: 12 v or invertor?

If you believe the manufacturer’s specifications (manual here (https://www.tentworld.com.au/assets/brochures/MT-V60FC.pdf) then based on power consumption 12v is the way to go. On 12v, wattage is 12v...

Re: J40, have questions

Jeff & Raine still own Gryphon years after completing their circumnavigation which tells you their opinion. Obviously YMMV.

Re: Balmar MC-614 Regulator Failure - Software Reset????

I had an MC-612 fail. If the mode displayed is correct (“bulk”) at start up then the likely culprit is the output transistor. Since these regulators are potted they’re “repair proof”. I replaced it...

Re: Profurl LC42/LCI42 Additional Extrusion + Hardware

Re: Profurl LC42/LCI42 Additional Extrusion + Hardware

Yeah well that really would have been a deal... although the extrusions with bearing appear to be retailing in the $260 neighborhood so a deal if you happen to need one. Due to my headstay length I...

Re: Why do people replace diesel engines in a sailboat?
