In order for boat #1 to inject DC current into boat #2 and #3 boat #1 must be connected to the shore power to complete the circuit.

When you say your moored, is there other boats around? Have you tested the water for stray AC and DC...

It normal for a boats to have the battery switch turn off and still have DC power going to the bulge pumps. That would explain why your reading voltage in the bulge water when the battery switch is...

I would think the Zinc fish should have been connected to the grounding bus bar not the shroud. Incase the shroud is not bounded or has a bad connection.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say if there is no current flowing to the hull through the coax cable you don't have to worry about it being grounded.


Most of the VHF marine antennas I know...
