Thaanks to your excellent avice the problem has now been resolved.
I had the port alternator (dumb) wired to charge only the port start battery with no links to house or solar via the vsr.

Yes. I have transposed tachs. As per my post.
It is not an instrument problem.
Port alternator is internally regulated. Stbd is externally regulated.

Its a very good hull.


Forget all the expensive sail-boat rigging ... Give her a coat of paint ... Fit an outboard bracket on her and buy a small second-hand outboard...
