I am concerned about the sheaves being the V not U type.. any rope I can hold would be thicker by far than the wire. Do you think you split yours because they also were the V type? Thanks for reading... |

Thanks for steering me to this thread. The rope of my wire-rope is 7/16.. I will buy some I saw on e-bay $59 for 100 ft more than enough. Stop me if this not a good move.. Thanks Jim |

I have a Ranger 29 and need to replace the jib halyard. Can I use halyard rope? Does anyone know if my boat has the right masthead sheaves or if in the case it's the v type could I get away with... |

I fixed mine by using a small grinder (drimmel)to exposing a bit more of the tube and get a better hold with the clamp (only one though). My tube wasn't damaged as I first thought. Not sure why it... |

Thanks guys & girls, I did check the packing box (no heat and dripping ok). Unless someone comes along who has had the same problem. Seizing after running a few minutes in forward or reverse. Is fine... |

Thanks for that advice.....I will have to change some things to use the same packing gland as the hose would be bigger going around the new pvc tube....may see if your idea will work putting the pvc... |
