Re: Suicide aboard - Dominica

Your argument was with ability, not jurisprudence.

Re: Suicide aboard - Dominica

What does geography have to do with a homicide investigation?

That statement makes no sense, especially when you consider that the Federal Bureau of Investigation has the funding level of a first...

Re: Suicide aboard - Dominica

Funny how quickly they ruled it a suicide.
Very suspicious

Re: Damaged Stained catamaran salon floor acid

Rugs could be good, but because curious souls are apt to lift the rug to inspect the floor, stain the light spots red and write, " GET OUT NOW!" next to the spots.

Re: An extra-heavy-displacement 11ft long Atlantic Proa for circumnavigation

These guys?

Only other options are the Urban Dictionary definition, and that is like something from a Jay & Silent Bob movie.

Re: Bali 4.0 - Owner's point of view

Most of the criticism I hear about cats not beating well is because their 'course made good' is better a little off the wind, whereas the only tac monohulls do well at is beating.

But the windows are the best part of Captain Nemo's Submarine Ride.

Have you never been to Disneyland?

Re: 4 die on Portuguese coast..

Always best to put them on before you start rigging the boat to leave port.

Accidents happen!

Re: 4 die on Portuguese coast..

Based on the many other foolhardy things, I will guess that they somehow felt safer being able to see the shoreline. Perhaps they weren't keen navigators either.

Re: Interesting articlle of a USCG rescue of a man stranded on an Island

Wow! I thought that type of thing only happened on tv or the movies.

It would be interesting to know what happened to the boat and why he chose to abandon it.

Re: Thai Naval vessel sinks

I guess if life jackets are stored where they're not reachable, they might as well not be there. Planning? Shouldn't someone raise an alert if there's a situation long before the ship sinks?

No...

Re: Titanic tourist submersible goes missing

Hey, I caught what you did there! I don't 'see' the point of the underwater lighting!

What were they claiming to be doing?

As for your theory on two submersible, post it up!

Re: Titanic tourist submersible goes missing

So it's accepted as fact that you need lights to see at that depth, and a proper hatch that can withstand that much pressure, but we're going to call hogwash, they're not really important if the...

Re: $1500 to recertify a $2200 4 man, Offshore life raft

Six hours of labor and fifty bucks for parts?

Typically with cam follower engines, if the clearance is drifting, the seats/valves are shot anyway and will continue to drift.

Re: Titanic tourist submersible goes missing

I don't remember any forensic identification of the said occupants by their dental records, but maybe it was done.

Do you have a link to the investigation?

Re: Titanic tourist submersible goes missing

I guess if the missing lights and the strange 'hatch' arrangement doesn't cause you any suspicions, you'd happily take a ride?

The news story was definitely splashy (no pun intended), but so...

Re: Titanic tourist submersible goes missing

I found the lack of lighting on the home made submersible interesting. So were the hatch designs on the submersibles made by legitimate sea vessel engineering companies.

Re: Naval vessel sinks

Go easy man, I had friends on that Death Star!

Everything comes down to maintenance, and seawater is brutal.

I think that the fact that they didn't even have enough life jackets sums it up.

In physics that's called Frame of Reference, which becomes very important for understanding Einstein's Theory of Relativity.

Re: 60' Charter Cat; Moon Dragon rescue

Excellent question, also, how a charter boat maintains 'like new' condition over twenty years. Something isn't adding up.

Scuttled perhaps?
