Re: Anchor winch connections & Victron BMV

There is 13.75v from the battery through the breaker to the solenoid, out of the solenoid to the winch is 12.35v fluctuating to 12.75v whilst the winch is running, voltage drop across the solenoid is...

Re: Anchor winch connections & Victron BMV

Sorry with voltage readings, with the engines running the voltage into the switching solenoid is 13.75v, out to the winch from the solenoid is a fluctuating 12.36 to 12.85v, listening to the winch...

Re: Anchor winch connections & Victron BMV

Well I've just done the voltage measurements, 13.65v supply to the solenoid which drops to 11.60v when the winch is activated, all the way through to the winch motor whilst operating is 11.60v, so...

Re: Anchor winch connections & Victron BMV

That's fine, there is nothing on the battery neg besides the shunt so I'll look elsewhere in the system.

Anchor winch connections & Victron BMV

Just a quick question, should the anchor winch negative be connected to the Victron bmv700 or can it be straight to the battery? As the engines are running whilst hauling in the anchor .

Re: Ships icon issues

I'm not sure what you mean about compass needs calibrating as opencpn is getting its data from our Furuno GP33, I can only think that for some reason that for me V5.8.4 isn't reading the GPS...
