Re: 1958 Rhodes Bounty II TELEIA

Re: 1958 Rhodes Bounty II TELEIA

Hirondelle is behind Preston's Chandlery in the yard that used to be Langerdahl's but I think is now called Greenport Yacht and Shipbuilding Co.

I took the basic measurements and they match those...

By the way, for those interested in the Bounty II and Philip Rhodes, here is some trivia:

There's an old wood boat rotting away in a yard in Greenport called Hirondelle. Turns out, Hirondelle is...

Re: 1958 Rhodes Bounty II TELEIA

Many thanks for the kind words!

Re: 1958 Rhodes Bounty II TELEIA

I am now working as an apprentice in a well known wooden boat yard. I've been derigging boats like mad which includes moving them and setting docklines often. This has made me appreciate the Bounty...

Re: Bristol 40 live-aboard for a pilot

I live aboard a Bounty II and it's perfect for my needs. Just big enough to handle a seaway, not too big to handle solo. Mine was set up well for cruising in terms of tank age, etc. Interior volume...

Re: Global catastrophe / SHTF "survivable locations"

Ha ha stash your salt and kill for it. I'll just scrape it off my ports after a passage and give away what I can't use.

There is such abundance of everything we need. Scarcity is a story we tell....

Re: DIY boatyards North Shore Long Island, west end

You might try Oyster Bay Marine Center. Its about a 40 min ride to Jamaica queens where you switch to the subway. 5 minute walk from train to boatyard.

I haven't dealt with them personally for...
