Re: Replacing S/S lifelines w/ rope

Re: Sailing without depth sounder?

If you’re familiar with the Chesapeake, then you’ll know that one could walk about 2/3’s of the way across it. There are plenty of places where the depth a mile out from shore is only a couple if...

Re: PPG - Americoat - ABC 3 or 4 paint

Earlier in the season I tried to track down a few gallons of ABC from commercial suppliers all over the east coast with no luck. So as an architect who over the years has used tanker loads of PPG...

Re: Minor Frig Upgrade- Thoughts on bubble wrap?

Glad you had a good yuk, Jedi! What got me thinking about this was that ASHRAE does identify that a 1/2” captive airspace bordered by an element of high emissivity can provide something on the order...

Re: OLD vs NEW boats. Contradictive experts' opinion.

There is some truth regarding the maximum amount an insurance company is willing to insure an older boat for. With Progressive where I’m insured, I think the value is $30-35K, not great. It would pay...

Re: Best tool for removing old hard bottom paint

Festools are nice, but pricey. Many of us use a rotary or pad sander connected to a shop vac.
