Especially north of Cairns

I'm mad on multis and built a few but efficient hulls aren't the best load carriers and as you point out, cost a lot.- $250k is not what I'd consider a lot for a decent multi

Don't like them either
Terribly inefficient use of resources in my eyes and I have a tough time understanding why anyone who actually knows boats or wants to be at one with nature would go that way....

Can't really compare you're 40 ft to a couple of hundred ft of luxury super yacht
Also consider that they have several full time staff on board, I daresay fuel is a small part of the overall bill.

Do any cruisers that have nice things and a requirement for lifepo4 have a battery bank that small?

Pretty sure I had more than 100ah in the 70's
Enough for nav lights and a radio and not much...

But that requires other electronic gadgetry like a balmar smart reg, Wakespeed etc etc to control charge and temp of alternator
And you also have the issue of the starts not getting charge...

I had something weird happen like that a while ago
Unplugged BMS and plugged it back in again

The bit you're not getting is that electric vehicle batteries that catch on fire are a different chemistry to Lifepo4 used in boat house banks
