It is a form of radiator cap. On the heat exchanger.
Do not waste your time with buckshee repairs.
Remove it. Have it pressure tested at the radiator shop at the same time as they repair it.

Haven't countless boaties hit bottom or rock faces and the like for countless centuries as well???
I spend 150 plus sea days out each year and the lowly depth sounder and radar most...
