Re: Security at anchor - camera in top of mast
I have an old radar so will need to investigate 3G radars. Are you telling me you know it can detect a swimmer or a dinghy 20 meter out, and be made to ignore objects further out? That sounds pretty... |

Re: Security at anchor - camera in top of mast
I was in contact with https://www.securitycamerasdirect.com/, They do NOT have anything that works. They have IR motion detecting cameras, but they will be triggered by waves. This company has no... |

Re: Security at anchor - camera in top of mast
Thanks a lot! I will PM you. Whereas the indicated costs may be prohibitive for me, it is a technical starting point to know what is out there! |

Re: Security at anchor - camera in top of mast
Hi Trifan, Thanks for the offer. I suggest, like Paul L, that you could describe capabilities of the system here in the thread. Several peole seemed to have the interest to explore. Thanks,... |

Re: Security at anchor - camera in top of mast
Thanks for your kind suggestion. I surely will try (again) to search the web. Clearly there may be few security experts around, but is it not so that we boaters often has a decent technical... |

Re: Security at anchor - camera in top of mast
Hi Rowglide, Thanks for the heads up. I may take contact to the owner for his experience. It looks like something similar to a FLIR M232, and it would seem that it is quite a task to cover a 360°... |

Re: Security at anchor - camera in top of mast
One surely could. I was more hoping that a system reliably could detect existence of a swimmer or dinghy in the immediate vicinity, 10-20 meter maybe, of my boat. Turning on the lights would give a... |

Re: Security at anchor - camera in top of mast
Hi Lepke, Can you confirm that your detectors are positioned to have your own boat as background, as opposed to looking outward from your boat. It is the latter I am interested in. Cheers, Dane |

Re: Security at anchor - camera in top of mast
Paul L, I still find it better if my lights go on, and a dog barks perhaps, when the possible intruder is say 15-20 meter out, compared to when he steps on the swimstep. So yes, I hope to have... |

Re: Security at anchor - camera in top of mast
Sigh.. Not to sound too ungrateful, but could we stay a bit closer to my original question please? - Yes, I know anchoring is not likely to kill me. - Yes, I am using the inside of my head to... |

Security at anchor - camera in top of mast
Hi All, I am thinking that while you sleep at anchor, it would be great to have a camera keeping a lookout. Could one or more camera(s) be placed - possibly in mast - to detect approaching people,... |
