If I was going to replace mine it would be with this one
FoodSaver® V3240 Vacuum Sealing System They have a setting now you can use with liquid to keep from sucking it into the air pump.

Foodsaver all the way.

Use the food saver brand bags.
When hiking I put clothes in them. They come out wrinkled but dry
they have an attachment to allow you to vacuum seal canning jars....
