Deckofficer, that dashew fpb line is pretty awesome! Yes to the solar but multiply the LiFePO4 capacity by 100. Remember, all-electric. Heck, I'm putting 1/4 of that on my 34.

About 250W (of convertible power). The trick is to have a much larger swept area 'prop' without making the boat draw a lot of water.

I don't want to derail this thread, but imagine a 10MWh LFP bank and regenerative propulsion. Lots of places to anchor with a good current to charge up!

Paralleling two LFP banks is not easy to do safely though. May be easier to stick with just a 1-2 switch without an 'all' position. Hmmm....how long will it take my 200W of PV to charge all three...

I would think a relative measurement would still tell you whether charging is occurring. Stopping in the middle of the ocean for an hour with no power may be inconvenient...��

Ebaugh, great idea about 'tuning' the alternator voltage. As for temperature, these are big V8 outboards and the alternators are built in to the flywheels. There's not really a good way to determine...

I think that 20A is going somewhere. Either load is consuming it, terminals are plating, or electrolyte is heating. I would assume over plating is hardest on the battery. Presumably, if you are not...
