surfingminniwinni - I know your post about travelling Melbourne to Sydney in this forum is 6 years old, but I'm leaving on Monday to do the reverse... Sydney to Melbourne crewing on a 32' Motor Cruiser and would love some tips for this time of year and places to stay - if this may have changed since your post... "Eden, Bermaguie, lunch stop at montegue island, then Moruya River, Batemans Bay (watch the bar at bb, high tide entry and exit.) Jervis Bay, and Greenwell Point."
I have to admit that since reading of your crossing I am nearly envious as Tassie is one place I would love to sail. Last year I got a good view of most of the East Coast on a flight to Hobart to walk the Overland Track. Then years back I did a winter trip down there and had a couple of perfect days on the uncrowded –maybe even “uninhabited" - East Coast beaches. It was that incredible one day I even stripped off for a swim at Wineglass Bay during the first week of July (there was a great little wedge for bodysurfing in the north corner!).
Make sure you bring back some equally wonderful memories!
