    My earliest memory is the mysterious green view down the centerboard box of a Cape Cod knockabout, on Casco Bay. My 1981 Catalina 27 is my first cruiser, although I've sailed small and large boats off & on through my lifetime. Most exotic sail was a dingy race at the Sandakan Yacht Club, Sabah, Malaysia in 1969. Most exciting sail was west across the Gulf of Maine in some weather, on s/v Caper (59' wooden sloop), as crew for Mr. Irving Pratt, the owner. Sailed & raced Penguin #4613 from 1957 to about 1963 on the Chesapeake. The Penguin is sitting on a trailer in my yard in DAvis, California, waiting for me to find a good new owner.
