Hi, Hoping that you wont be put off by the negative replies you've received to your post. There seems to have been a new generation of people join the forum over recent years (more often than not wealthy Americans close to (or recent) retirement). Their experience and knowledge is often completely based on viewing YouTube vids of happy, beautiful people, sailing fantastically expensive cats. The soft of boat, in my view, that is actually an apartment on the water.

There are plenty of good solid monos, well equipped for blue water in the budget you've indicated. Unfortunately you have to look hard and expect a few disappointments.

I'd suggest open a dialogue with Zeehag. She's based in Mexico where the budgets are much less and she has frequently pointed out comparatively cheap (to someone with US dollars) boats there that sound excellent.
