    I read your post of 4 yrs ago about how tough old Pearsons are. I have a little brother to yours...a 1962 Pearson Electra. I want to cruise her in the ocean but have been reading that deck/hull joints should be mechanically fastened. I don't know how these old Pearson's joints are fastened but not mechanically. Do you know how the joint is made? Do you think it is strong enough for ocean cruising? Thanks for any advise.

    Raised in Chicago area. Grew up on sailboats-still sailing the Pearson Triton my parents bought in 1962. Bought the ketch many years ago. Gearing up for completion of restoration. Plan on moving aboard and cruising until infirmity takes over.
