Thanks for the awesome reply. First got hooked on these boats abt 10 years ago when I read hall Roths book. Then started looking at the bigger ones. Really got caught by surprise when they said I could retire early so past the dreaming stage 3/4 years and I will be done. Just keep coming back to these because the seem to be a much better value for my dollar compared to other boats I like ps/shannon etc. like I said biggest concern is I'm single, so if girlfriend bails can I take it out by myself and go sailing if I want? Really don't want to do electric winches but I see some of these have them.

CAELESTIS, I installed a small Sunpower unit, last week, on STARS & STRIPES' old towing RIB, and I was not impressed. I opened up the frame because I needed to attach a rail mount, and I found the seals very poorly done. I went ahead and resealed everything in 3M 4000UV (the original seal was silicone, and little of it). The panel is now mounted to the t-top, at a slight angle to ensure drainage. I don't know how big a panel size you are looking at, but I'd look at another brand for better construction. Check out solar-electric.com in AZ for the Kyocera panels (made here in San Diego, but I can't get them direct, or avoid the shipping costs). I'll send you a picture of the inside of the panel when I can get it out of my camera.
