First we sanded and then masked up and painted the teak with Colean polyurethane varnish. Then we masked up and painted a thin black line with 2 pack polyurethane on the fibreglass deck
We ground all damage between the teak and deck out with a dremel and round burr creating a small u shaped groove. We then masked up an filled with black polyurethane sealant smoothing it into a neat radius, slightly covering the very edge of both the teak and the paint. We then pulled the tape off when it was just right, not too wet not too dry.
Huge and fussy job with a perfect result.

ArmySailor. Well If you do not find anyone for the Delmarva trip. Let me know. I'm a retired Army 88K (Water Craft Operator) so I am familiar with standing watch. I need to work on is the wind propulsion system. LOL
I do have some (self taught) sailing experience. Back in 2016, I was given my late brother-in-law's 26' sailboat and I single handed her to Norfolk Naval base from St. Petersburg, Fl. My hope is that when my wife retires from the DoD/Army we'll try out the cruising life style. So for me it would be a opportunity to sail with some one that has some sailing experience. If it isn't possible this time, Please keep me on your short list for any other adventure. I live near Charlottesville, VA and during the season I am most often at the Naval base.

Gene - Obviously been a while since I checked my messages on this site! My Shannon 28 was Macushla, hull #18. Last heard from the guy I sold her to in 2010 about 2 years ago, boat was in Naples Fla or thereabouts.....
