Hi John. My name is Gary and we just moved here to the Big Island (Hawaiin Beaches to be exact) in April from Seattle. Since you seem to know a lot about the local sailing scene here I was wondering if you would mind getting me up to speed on what sailing there is here. I also besides being a firefighter in Seattle, had a boat repair and diving business there since the mid 70's. Was wondering what the possibilities for part time boat repair work would be here.
I went down and saw the small boat YC at hilo bay. No one was there, but I did get a chance to sail my RC boat there in the harbor for a few hours. I'm getting withdrawals with now sailing !
