Hi Blue Heron, I found your post regarding running your Perkins 6.354 at 2600 RPM with a temp 198 f and I'm hoping to learn a bit more from you. I have dual 6.354 turbo, at 2600 RPM I run at 19 kt and the temp is about 198, validated with IR gun. I've been told these engines shouldn't be run over 185 and I've been spending a fortune trying to solve a heat problem. After reading your post I'm wondering if the information I've been given is false.

Do you typically run your perkins that hot and have you had any problems as a result?
