    Hi Karl,

Hmm… not sure if I like your idea.
    A couple of points -
    1. Coppershield and cop-r-cote are slightly different and I wouldn't suggest they behave EXACTLY the same way.
    2. As soon as you overcoat the epoxy loaded copper, I think it will stop acting like as a biocide as there will be little reaction with the seawater and copper to release the copper salts.
    3. The best defence of worm would be (IMO) epoxy barrier coat - but not suitable for a carvel hull (again IMO).
    4. Any good anti foul with keep worm at bay as long as it is working.
    5. Many (most) carvel hulls survived OK as long as the anti foul was maintained.
    6. I'm very happy with Coppershield but I wouldn't suggest it in high fouling warm waters. It might work sometimes but I have seen times when it hasn't worked.

Hi I am looking at a wooden boat on the east coast and thinking about the cop-r-cote with a coat of antifouling on top to combat slime and algae mainly want the cop-r-cote for the worms how has your experience with the copper shield gone?
    Thanks Karl
