I think we have a new crew member. Seeing as we are feeding and providing shelter for what ever it is at the mo, I guess we call it a pet :-) Anyway's, Dawn picked up a packet of crackers to have with cheese and found something else had been there before her. It has nawed away a neet little hole and nibbled all the outer edges of the crackers. At first I saidm nah we can't have a mouse on board. How would it get here. The packet must have been chewed at home surely. A few minutes later, she pops out the hatch with another food itme that had also been chewed through. Uh oh, I think we have a stowaway.

So you are in the charter business now. Might be a good idea working out all the problems with rodents before moving on to people.

Have to agree with all of the above. Best set traps NOW .. best bait? Peanut butter ... they might prefer cheese, but they can steal the cheese ... not the peanut butter!

The thing that surprises me the most is, where the heck did he/she come from. I am at the end of a jetty. A longgggg jetty. Why my boat???

Set the traps out NOW. I had one a couple of months ago and it took three days to get, and its unbelievable how many things it had damaged in that time, even though there was plenty of real food about. Even ate my scuba regulator mouthpiece. A friend went to the mainland for a couple of months, and somehow one got aboard and completely destroyed everything: wood, hoses wiring, even canned food! And this was out in the middle of the lagoon on a mooring ball, so a jetty would be easy for them.

We were delivering a yacht in South Africa once and honestly the rats coming down the marina were as big as the cats - no joke - I was in the marina bar and said to the barman - hey look that cat has just gone into your kitchen! He laughed and put the lights up - no cat - a large rat! My steak didn't quite taste the same after that!

A "friend" who shall go unnnamed..had had a few drinks......This had the odd effect of clouding his judgement !! In his somewhat warm and fuzzy state he decided that the old bladder was a bit stretched and needed relief. There happened to be a handy tree, all the dogs used it so why not he ? Did l mention slightly fuzzy ?....happens this place was a well used park adjacent to the local tourist jetty and cafe. Yes it was at night but there was also street lighting. Away he goes doin tha deed. It so happened that at the same time a very large water rat (about half a metre long) ran down the jetty and threw itself into the water. Turning around and yelling after us whilst packing away the mechandise, HEY GUYS...THAT WAS HUGE....DID YOU SEE THE $*^&$%#SPLASH ??!! ..........just as a gentleman with two young daughters on an evening stroll chanced by............Oh yes there is all types of rhodents !!

Hey, Baysflyer here. I remember a wise old man telling me that the lightest boat always goes on the outside when rafting up! Can't muck around with those sorts of things. My suggestion is a good old whack with an umbrella, works well on stray cats!
