Kenyon Homestrand Alcohol Stove Conversion

I'm a do it yourselfer and I want to inexpensively and safely convert my pressurized alcohol stove to propane.Can I just drill out the orifices to propane size, use copper supply tubing, and maybe just change a regulator if needed?Should be pretty simple and cheap.Thanks in advance for any help!

No, you cannot. You can go to a barbeque supply store and purchase the (typically) smallest 10,000 BTU burners (sometimes called "side burners", and some proper valves, the Venturi fitting, the hoses and the all-important shut-off solenoid and the perhaps even more important propane sniffer.

In other words, open your wallet and read a book. It's a non-trivial task, but I've seen it done safely, and having propane come out of the otherwise attractive gimballed Homestrand stove is very pleasant. You could even rig a piezo sparker, I suppose.

I converted that same stove for a friend of mine. I believe we used burners from an outdoor store.
