Glass jars - please advise...

Recycling at its finest, Sara! But dang, I keep looking under the lifelines (our dryer) and cant find any lint that hasn't got birdcrap on it. Do you think that belly-button lint world work?

Seriously, good idea and thanks for passing it on to those who actually have a dryer on board (or at home)

Oh, I think belly button lint is the FINEST kind. Do you generate suffcient ammounts to make a nice little handfull? >; -}>

On the other hand laundrymats have an endless supply and I have never traveled anywhere that I couldn't find one!

I do a bit of home canning and have been thinking on the problem of storage as well. I figure building a lattice work of either plastic tube or thin veneer in which the bottles will be loaded one on top of the other. Then a lid gets screwed down to the outer frame. This way the bottles are separated and have next to no room to move. When needed undo the lid, and pull one out. Perhaps plastic disks could be cut to fit between the bottles.

Glad I found this post...I came to ask the very same question, and y'all have given some great answers! My garden is a bumper crop this summer, and I plan to include some of my home canning as I provision my boats. Spicy Hot Pickled Green Beans are a must for Bloody Mary's. Fig preserves and hot biscuits are a great morning treat. The best is quarts of vegetable soup on a nasty weather day.
