Canned Bacon is Back !

For any of you long-range cruisers, here is something you might
consider, canned bacon is back! I have not tried this yet, but I loved the original stuff.

Actually, that's not THAT bad:

12 cans for $110, that's 9.17 a can. They SAY each can contains what was originally 3lbs of bacon. That's $3.06/lb.

Wow! I have not seen bacon in a can for 45 years. My family took it to Canada on a camping trip when I was just a kid in Ohio. I remember it looking just like the picture. Although I do not eat red meat today it still is the best thing in the morning to smell on a camp site.

I just recieved my order and opened a can yesterday. Not bad, Very similar to the long shelf life precooked product available from Hormel, Oscar Meyer and others. The Yoders appears to be less sodium from a personal taste opinion and the can is chock full.

I would like to get the Celebrity brand I so fondly remember but this is better than nothing. Life without bacon? perish the thought!

OK, so I am stomping around the boat trying to figure out how to get a case of that bacon down here. Jill is laughing about my craving MORE BACON!

An then she turn cruel! She shows me this picture of a cup made out of bacon! I HAVE GOT to try this.....

She found it at:
not martha - bacon cups

OMG... That is truly a wicked thing to do. Where are you so I can send a can. Best you get a different address so the wife does not know. Bacon is simply not understood by the fair (or unfair) sex. The Yoders brand needs a bit of microwave or pan cooking. Not much as it is precooked.

I have high cholesterol & hypertension, so my physician was very pleased the hear that I’ve greatly reduced the amount of butter I slather on my bacon.

Homer Simpson on Bacon:

Homer: So you think you know better than this family, eh? Well as long as you're in my house you'll do what I do and believe what I believe! So butter your bacon!

Bart: Yes father.

Lisa: Mom, dad, my spiritual quest is over!

Homer: Hold that thought... Bacon up that sausage, boy!

Bart: But dad, my heart hurts!
