Re: Time to Reef!

I cant tell if that boat in the foreground has the spinnaker up or not! Now that's a seaman! Here's where Radar pays for itself; you saw it coming, you know what direction it's moving and you're not there!

Re: Time to Reef!

The spinnaker looks suspiciously like a tree, and the ocean looks like a field of grass but it is a great picture non the less. I think the question should be where to hide...

As for reefing, I typically do it about 5 minutes after I first think about it...depending on how lazy I am feeling.

The photo is titled Montana storm and last time I looked Montana was not on the coast? Still a seriously scary looking sky and not one i'd want to be anywhere near given the choice.

Re: Time to Reef!

If that is a Montana storm.........that must be a "prarie schooner" in the forground.......without a spinaker flying.

Re: Time to Reef!

When I lived in Edmonton I saw that exact cloud formation on a number of occasions. It was always followed by some pretty impressive precipitation including once when it dumped several feet of hail in various locations. The street and park in front of my house turned into a lake.

Re: Time to Reef!

yea, Montana, apparently a lake... I've seen bigger versions of that circular cloud front formation, but not as intense looking as that one!

Re: Time to Reef!

Shouldn't this go in the joke forum? It doesn't seem to be a serious question...at least there are no serious answers (and I'm not going to be the first...)

It's a Winnebago with a spare tire on the back. They got out to take the picture. If you look carefully, you may see Bison lying on the grass so as to have a dry spot for their feet to stand on after the rain comes.
