Sailing Classes in Caribbean

Hi All,
New here and to the sailing world. I was wondering if anyone has an opinion on sailing classes in the Caribbean/South Florida? I am planning on taking a course this winter and have been looking at the Blue Water company. Specifically a course out of St. Thomas in January. I have limited sailing experience, but am looking to become a cruiser within 5 years. I plan on taking a couple trips per year to the Caribbean and South Florida to gain as much hands on experience as possible. I will also be sailing on a lake nearby on small boats.
Thanks for any information you can share.
Marty

Hi Marty,
"Barefoot" sailing courses in the Grenadines will be warmer than Florida in January. Beautiful islands; friendly people. Good place for scuba too.
Fair Winds,

There are several schools in the USVI and BVI, I can recommend Rob Swain Sailing in the BVI - they offer ASA courses and can also hook you up with a charter boat after successful course completion.

Here's another recommendation for Rob Swain Sailing School out of Nanny Cay at Tortola. My wife and I where just there last month for a combo ASA 103/104 class and it was excellent. Highly recommended!
