Much discussion in the "Crossing the Gulf Stream" thread about
weather forecast & data sources.
For those who may not already know, the National Data Bouy Center maintains a website that is a portal to real-time
weather observations from its array of bouys. Some stations are fixed ashore, others bouys.
For example, the fixed station at Settlement Point Grand Bahama Island can be found here:
NDBC - Station SPGF1
Fowey Rocks Fl here:
NDBC - Station FWYF1
Bouy 20mi east of Cape Canaveral:
NDBC - Station 41009
You get the idea... a GOOD resource that can be used in your voyage decision-making process. Has data from sensors around the world.
With luck there will be a bouy station close to your intended track.
