Dave been in an accident that coast me 7 years of my life...then cancer tried its hand on me...if I go to sea its not to die...its to live.

crossing an ocean is nothing to brag about 5000 or more do it every year...to me its not even an acomplishment, its just a few wasted weeks in the flood...a torture!! why would I want to torture myself with added passengers I may not get along with...farthermore I may or may not come back this year...the point of being on a sailboat is to travel the world...I am not one to stay at the marinas (that would kill a guy like me) iv been 7 times to africa and 4 times to PNG and south america always along in the jungles doing my thing...pleas stop worying about me, thats nonsence as you dont know anything about me or what I can do...but one thing for sure I follow my own road.

I understand your motives and determination. But you might consider heading to the Canaries and crossing to Barbados with the trades, and then heading North to the Canadian Maritimes. This is a much longer route, but it has it's own attractions.

I am the kind of guy who will be easy on riggins...id rather lose speed and keep my sails well balanced...more of a cruiser then a racer
probably the only sailor here who can keep the same tiller pilot a full decade I maight even do without???

I want no part of a cored hull...a cored deck maybe but a hull no way.

Go for it but would suggest doing a bit of local sailing getting to know your boat and setting up as to how you want it,,I will be doing the trip from UK to Canada next year in an 18 ft Caprice so if they think you crazee imajine what they will think of me lol

your pissed? imagin me whatching sailboats passing on the st laurence every day all summer,,,and not only have I not sailed mine but I havent even set foot on a boat this summer...pissed you say? an understatment if you ask me,,,I am miserable and bored to death...my head, I mean my hard drive holds nothing but sailboat related...life has stoped for me yet the bills keeps pouring in and winter is growing on me again...pissed? Lol Steve Look at it this way, you have a girlie, roof over your head and a the H28. Christmas is coming soon, then the days start getting longer and Spring time which means fitting out the boat ready for the summer
