I am absolutely and totally new to sailing but I have he greatest aspirations. I will be 85 in 2016 and as such by then I will have fulfilled my ambition to visit and see the "New" Seven Wonders of the World. This task will be completed in late 2015/early 2016 when I spend a few weeks in Rio to see the Christ the Redeemer Statue. (A few weeks is required because I also want to see if "That girl" is still in Ipanima).
After that I will relax for about a year getting back into my Marine
Corps shape. I will then, in late 2106/early 2017 attempt to break the Guinness Book Record
for the Oldest person to circumnavigate the globe - Solo.
I have begun my search for both grants and sponsors because I do not have the resources to do it without financial assistance.
As All of you "Old Salts" now roll around in fits of laughter I just ask that you suppress all of that and look at the bigger picture. I will be joining what I consider one of the greatest groups of people in the world - -Sailors.
All advice and comments are absolutely appreciated
