Howdy,
I stumbled upon a reference to this site while reading another board on Bluewater Sailing. Think I am glad I did. For the moment I guess I'm the new guy. The admiral and I have just purchased our new home, a Lagoon 410 that we intend to cruise on for the forseeable future or until it's no longer fun. I will retire next year at the end of fire season here in CA. We will join the boat on the east coast at that time and see where fate leads us. I would love to bring it around here and be able to work on it and get to know it during the next year, but I just can't bring myself to lay out the $25k it would cost. I'd rather put the money into the boat (and probably will! LOL). Well, enough for starters. Hope to hear from folks with advice and/or ideas that will be of good use as I've much to learn about this business. ![]() |

Don't mind troubledour, He's been trying to stay off the roof tops lately. There is a great bunch of guys/gals from around the world here and I'm sure you'll get some good advice/info through the boards.
Congrats on the Lagoon. They're a nice looking Cat. Haven't been aboard one yet but will when the time comes. Cats are really hard to find over here on the West Coast. A 43 come up for sale here last spring and it was sold before I could get to see it. Anyway enjoy the site.................._/) ![]() |

gpilott,
Welcome aboard! I envy you being so close to throwing the lines, and taking off to cruise.I've got a few more years to go yet,but it always does my heart good to hear of someone else making it.Congratulations on your Cat.I've never sailed on one(hmmm....you did say the boat is on the East coast didn't you?? , well that just happens to be where I'm at ), but I've always wanted to.I went aboard a few really nice ones at the Annapolis sailboat show years ago. I was really impressed with the roominess of them. You'll find some great folks on the board here that will help you in any way they can.Once again, welcome to you and your Admiral![]() |

waiting is difficult
Yes, the waiting is the most diffuclt. It all seems a little unreal. We are getting ready to give up one way of life for a completely different life style. Everything I read from different people that cruise and live aboard display such passion for the lifestyle. I want to be able to say I gave that way a try.
