Hello, and thanks for the great service you provide on this site. My husband and I are "old salts" (we're both retired Navy), but new to the community. I sailed as a girl, but the old man was a confirmed motor boater until I shanghied him onboard a nice 45 footer in the "big bay". Now we dream of buying, living aboard and in 10 years or so taking off for whatever Neptune has in store.

I would love to talk to others in the area about anything and everything that will help us prepare for our goal. I'll continue to read, post and hopefully learn as time marches on.

Welcome aboard! I used to sail out of Fiddler's Cove when the Navy had its club there. Had a home in Chula Vista and my daughter lives in Normal Heights. Retired Navy here too. I don't think you can beat San Diego for sailing except for the high slip rates. Maybe the Navy has some good deals?
