Re: San Diego Sailor's Happy Hour

Just a reminder, tonight's the night for a San Diego Sailor's Happy Hour at Southwestern Yacht Club. The address is (for those driving): 2702 Qualtrough Street, SD, 92106. My contact phone is (should you get lost): 619-709-1163. For those arriving by boat, be sure to get a Harbor Police permit for anchoring in the A-1 anchorage (619-686-6277) or dinghy to the guest docks at the club. If anyone should check you out, tell them you are here for the Cruisers Forum meeting and a guest of Roy Miles.

Folks from Downwind Marine will be there with their famous cruising guide, others, not associated (yet) with CF will also be there to share their cruising experiences and lessons. Good spot, good folks, good libations, good vibes. See you there, tonight!

Re: San Diego Sailor's Happy Hour

Yeah, it was a very good showing of the local crowd. The good folks of Downwind Marine brought some of their very cool info packets, full of the critical info needed for cruisers headed outward bound. Renee and John Prentice, just returned from twelve years of cruising Mexico, the South Pacific, and then Thailand, regaled us with stories of their lost rudder, rescue of a crew of a sailboat 500 miles off Fiji, just minutes before the vessel sank (featured in Latitude 38), and numerous other adventures. Dano and Mike met some more of the local color. And a good time was had by all. The cruising life is good, and good for you.
