Hi.
I'm a Born Again Sailor,
living aboard a Conati 26 in South of
France, on a shoe-string
budget. (after last marriage went South I thought heading South seemed a god idea!)-previously a
dinghy sailor, with one week-long mid-winter course under my belt a long time ago...
When I got the
boat , I had the
motor serviced and it started ran quite well for a while.
Now it won't start.
I've recently changed the plugs, changed the ignition leads and seem to be getting good sparks on the plugs.
Although
fuel is getting through, I guess there's some prob with the carburation. I think the
motor is circa 1978?, but seems to have not been run much.
Any any
advice on stripping down the carb would be most welcome.
This is stopping me going sailing!-Its 20 minutes motoring to get out of the marina/port. (not supposed to sail out because of narrow channels)
Oh, and the leech of my
mainsail is quite rotten (UV ageing?).Advice on repairing this in a sound fashion would be appreciated too!(So far I've patched it with sail
repair tape, which I've reinforced with some stitching)
Regards!
