New Sailor in Pensacola

Whats up everyone. I just sailed for the first time today and it was great. I was with a buddy on a Hunter 170 here on base in P'cola. I hope to use this site as a reference for sailing info.

Welcome to the forum,
Thanks for serving in the military. I assume you are a pilot, pilots make great sailors
Happy sailing,
Erika

Aloha Fly,
Welcome aboard! Glad you found sailing. Knowing a bit about aerodynamics and how to do a checklist helps a lot.
I was once stationed at Whiting Field a bit east of you. VT2. That was mid 60s so I'm certain things have changed a bit. My admin officer took me up in a T-28 Trojan and let fly a bit. I'll bet the aircraft are a bit newer. 400 knot single reciprocating engine aircraft was lots of fun.
Hope you learn to enjoy sailing as much as I do.
kind regards,
JohnL

Hey, I'm a new sailor in P'Cola too! The Hunter 170 is a snazzy boat, mine's like the old junker version of that. Maybe I'll see you around the bay!

Sounds cool! My trailer has no lights or wires on it right now. I'm re-doing them after work tomorrow so I won't be going anywhere... Thanks for the offer though, I've only sailed my boat once since I got it a week or 2 ago 'cause I have been fixing 'er up. Can't wait to get out on the water!!!
