Hello to everyone from a new member but an old sailor

This is my first real post on this site. It was recommended by "Amanda Faye's Dad" so I decided to check it out and here I am.

My name is Scott, I am 50 (soon to be older) I am married to Juli my partner/first mate/wife/lover/partner for 17 years. We met on the beach 20 years ago in Rhode Island while windsurfing. We have 3 kids Collin 16, Dannel 14 and Lily 9, a goofy looking Cardigan Corgi dog named Sophie and 3 cats. We currently sail in Narragansett Bay in Rhode Island on our 1901 gaffed rigged Herreshoff 15. We sail this boat mainly at night with friends and rarely leave sober. We love night sailing! quiet, very few boats and very romantic. We also have a Cheoy Lee Offshore 41 which we are spending lots of time on restoring and modifying for our planned world cruise - just need to figure how to get the kids to move out! I have been sailing since I was 5, raced in a few regional and national races when I was in my teens. My wife's first real sail on a large boat (larger than a windsurfer) was on the 12 meter US 14 Northern Light. I was the skipper and she was my first mate during the summer of 1986. I look forward to sharing stories, information and dreams with all of you.

Gunner,

Sorry about tha Amada Faye stuff - didn't think about it before I posted. Glad to see the Lats & Atts is cleaning up. I will post on the boat profiles as soon as I get a chance. I have been checking out your own boat and I am very impressed with what you have done with her. Dissapointed that you removed the Jacuzi, every boat should have one. I remember looking at one boat on line and the guy had a claw footed bathtub installed - WHAT are these people thinking?? They obviously never left the dock for any reason what so ever. Would love to see more of the interior of yours and I am only kidding about the jacuzi, good call. By the way, I have seen your posts about which route to take south, we really enjoyed the canal from Osweego to the Hudson. Coming down the Hudson to NY was great and I would do it again anytime. We had no problem stepping the mast at the end of the canal and no problems in the canal and our draft was 10ft.

You took Northern Lights through the erie? Did you hire the mast unsteped and resteped? You need to post on the thread below!
I have been getting some great help and I could use more.

Gunner,

Yes we took Northern Light throught the Erie canal with no problems. We gently dropped the mast in Osweego and re-stepped it when we got into the Hudson. I don't remember any more of the details because it was 20 years ago and those brain cells are long gone.
