Hello, hello!

Hi all, I'm glad to be here.

In short: I'm new to sailing, joined a yacht club last month, buying the gear, anticipating a summer of crewing. The fixation started one summer in a dingy on a lake in the Muskokas then a year ago I began devouring everything that has ever been written about sailing. Every day that goes by the thought of owning a boat and being on the water is more and more attractive.

Dreams of living an unattached reality, breaking the shackles that bind these two feet to land, or ownership of material things, are slowly taking shape. I'm sure many of you on here can relate to what I have only just begun.

Cheers!
Chris

Re: Hello, hello!

I totally relate. I did all those things and bought a boat, too. Welcome to the obsession.

Howdy and Welcome Aboard!

Sailing can be a healthy obsession.

Since you like to read about sailing too (I do too), here is a link to a blog created by one of the members here. It is all about books about sailing.
