Hello From West Virginia

Just bought my first boat. Very excited! Very excited indeed! It's in the shop being gone over and will be launched soon. So much to learn. Did I mention I'm very excited?

I guess I'll learn the ropes of the Kanawha River and enjoy the Charleston area for awhile, and then as I get brave err experience, head out for points unknown.

congratulations: I used to live in Ironton. ( Arn'n Ahia - sort of like F'csl' ). I've been to Charlston and seen & smelled the river. What do y'all use for a barrier coat?

Re: Hello From West Virginia

I got a Bayliner 2452. It's a '96 model. Nice shape. Makes me happy just to look at it. Not new, but well cared for. Really liked the price. Seems like a lot of boat for the money. I can't wait to spend a weekend in it.

Re: Hello From West Virginia

Seems like big adventure for sure. I know there is live music in Charleston, and I've heard reports of grand things further out. I need experience but some day I'll venture through the locks and dam. Just sitting and playing guitar with my son sounds way cool. Maybe I can catch up on my studies and reading. My fiance just wants to enjoy the sun. I guess the reason it all appeals to me is the hope of just slooooowing down. Life seems to just go too fast anymore.

You run and you run to catch up with the sun but...

Re: Hello From West Virginia

I so can't wait to drive my boat. They called today and are putting on a new canvas. Still things to be done. I know it won't be long. It's hard to wait though. At least it's 40 degrees.
