Hello from Sydney, Oz

Hi Guys

Just joined. Have a bit of blue water cruising under the belt. 3 boats to date, about to buy the forth. Have had a gap due to kids and business.

New purchase probably a South Coast 36, centre cockpit, cutter rigged sloop. Rationale is that it is big enough to go anywhere, yet small enough to sail alone. Cutter rig break down the sail size.

Just read the thread on the sunken Lazy JAck, so will monster surveyor re seacocks condition.

G'Day Bodgy,

Welcome to the forum -- it can be an interesting jousting grounds as well as a good source of info. Of course, free advice is worth what you pay for it...

Anyhow, we're heading slowly south and will be in the Sydney area by the beginning of Feb... perhaps we will have an eyeball. Where do you keep the boat?

Cheers,

Jim and Ann s/v Insatiable II lying Burnett River, Qld Oz

Welcome to the forum Bodgy.
Yeh...I think many of us have taken some good stuff away from the Lazy Jack story.
Good luck with the new boat (hopefully)

Guys, thanks for the welcome.

Jim, currently there is no boat. The mostly likely purchase (there are a number of SC36 on the market post GFC) is lying at Mackay. Depending on $$ negotiations the earliest I'll get her back to Sydney is mid February. She will be on a swing mooring at Rose Bay.

I'd be interested to meet when you're in Sydney, and (naturally) check out Insatiable. Where will you tie up? Suggest you PM me when getting close.
