Hello

Hello Everyone,
I am new to the forum and would like to introduce myself.
I am an armchair sailor now, after selling our last yacht a Maurice Griffiths Good Hope Cutter rigged.
My sailing was generally around the east coast of England. I have always been intrigued in self steering gear and had an auto pilot which was very temperamental. I started to look at sheet to tiller steering but was slightly put off by the lines crossing the cockpit. I never actually got round to building any equipment but had done a few sketches on how a system could work.
The main criteria were to keep it quite simple with the minimum of fabrication, reduce the number of lines in the cockpit and to be multi adjustable to suit most wind conditions and boats.
I don’t know if sheet to tiller is still of interest, if it is I will happily post a drawing.
Also let me know the best forum to post to.
Bernie.

Re: Hello

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Good to have you here. There have been a few threads here on the forum concerning self-steering systems and if you do a search you'll find some of them. Sheet to tiller has been discussed for its simplicity.
kind regards,
