This is my baby. Yes, I know she needs paint...I'm working on an exhaust problem so I can haul her out. But I love her just the same...Destination Unknown is her name ...built in 1939 by god knows who( if you have a clue I would be so happy!) As for her crew I am Cap'n Nik and the bow fluff ya see is my girlfriend...she is having a contest w/ the mahogahny mast as to who is the oiliest. Thats it. Just us. We are planning a long term cruise to mexico and beyond or as far as a 60 gallon tank and as many cans of fuel I can strap to the deck will allow. I hope all youu sailors don't give me too hard of a time...I am not your typical powerboater.http://www.reachone.com/capn%5Fnik

Boaters is boaters. I've met lots of powerboaters that I liked. Well, OK a few. A couple. You sound like one I'd get along with OK. What kind of engine is in DU?
From the picture and your description, looks like you're still in Seattle? You'll have quite an adventure getting her to Mexico. Gas is a lot cheaper there though. Good luck!

She is wood irwin..powered by a ford 300 straight six...as soon as she is ready to cruise i try not to plan too far ahead as each project creates 2 more...locating and fixing an exhaust leak so i can haul her out and give a good coat of paint is the most critical at the moment....
