Vancouver, BC Marina

Where/which is a good marina to park the boat in a slip for about two weeks. Need to fly out of Vancouver and leave boat here, then return and keep sailing north from Vancouver.

Need the marina to be reasonably close to mass transit that can take us to the international airport.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Re: Vancouver, BC marina

Try False Creek Fisherman's wharf. Best rates and they might have some availability. Or anchor in False Creek. Free for two weeks. False Creek Harbour Authority

The lightrail (can't remember what they call it) in Vancouver now goes to the airport and I believe you can reach the rail by bus from just about anywhere.

thank you Livia

mass transportation is such a wonderful thing. Hope we get some more of it in the US over the next several years. I'm hoping we get some fast trains on the west coast.

TransLink - Trip Planning

This is a link to the Vancouver Transit planning site You would be going from around the Yaletown Roundhouse to YVR if you leave your boat in False Creek. Check it out on Google Earth and you will have a pretty good idea of the layout and where the different transit stops are. You will go on the SkyTrain.

Last year when I tied up at the Fisherman's wharf behind the Burrard street bridge, I walked to the Olympic Village sky train terminal and caught the Canada Line skytrain which took me right to the airport. About $1.75 if I remember right. Old fart discount. If you anchor farther up False Creek you will be even closer to the terminal.
